An evening to reflect on the amazing achievements of the countless college teams, across 15 sports and 10 different colleges, awarding those students who dedicate their time and efforts to college sport.

Awards
Club of the Year - HALIFAX WOMEN'S FC
This award recognises the club that has had an extraordinary successful sporting year, taking into account achievements on and off the pitch such as:
Outstanding sporting achievements
Innovative and creative approach to club activity during lockdown
Increased participation and engagement
Promoting diversity and inclusivity
Fundraising for local and national charities and/ or local community involvement
Team of the Year - JAMES MEN'S FOOTBALL 1S
This will be awarded to the individual team with the best overall performance for the academic year. This could include:
Outstanding sporting success at an event, tournament or competition
Consistent and sustained team performance throughout the academic year
Exceptional achievement in a league i.e. promotion
Sportsperson of the Year - OLLIE PARR
Sportsperson of the Year will be awarded to an individual that fulfils one or more of the criteria below:
A motivated, dedicated and passionate team player
Consistent and exceptional performance throughout the year
Outstanding contribution to a major event, game or tournament
Any individual who identifies as male & whose gender identity aligns with their sex assigned at birth.
Any individual who identifies as male & whose gender identity differs from their sex assigned at birth.
Any individual who identifies as non-binary is eligible for this award.
Sportswoman of the Year- CHARLOTTE KNIGHT
Sportswoman of the Year will be awarded to an individual that fulfils one or more of the criteria below:
A motivated, dedicated and passionate team player
Consistent and exceptional performance throughout the year
Outstanding contribution to a major event, game or tournament
Any individual who identifies as female & whose gender identity aligns with their sex assigned at birth.
Any individual who identifies
Most Improved Sportsperson of the Year- SOPHIE WINSTANLEY
Most Improved Sportsperson of the Year will be awarded to the individual who has achieved one of more of the below throughout their time at University:
Notable and consistent improvement in their standard of performance throughout their time at University
Has gone above and beyond to improve their individual performance in their sport
Improved their representational standing e.g. going from beginner to representing the team
Student Official of the Year- ETHAN KARPUK
Student Official of the Year will be awarded to a student who has consistently given up their time to referee college sport events and fulfils one or more of the following criteria:
Maintain high standards of refereeing and professionalism
Managing spectators and teams under pressure
Regularly giving up time to officiate, and dependably volunteering for officiating and development opportunities
Charitable Club or Campaign of the Year- ANNE LISTER AND DAVID KATO FC
Charities change the lives of people in need and this award recognises the great fundraising contributions to charity by our sports clubs.
We will consider contributions of all different kinds that:
Raised valuable funds or awareness for a specific charity or cause
Formed new or innovative partnerships with charitable organisations
Engaged a large amount of members and/or students with a charity or campaign
Used new or unique ways to raise funds or awareness for a cause.
College Team Champion- NYAH CHAMBERLAIN
College Team Champion will be awarded to a student who has gone above and beyond to support their club and team. This could include showing:
An outstanding commitment to a club(s) throughout their university experience
A passion to initiate and drive improvement and/ or development of their club or team
Motivated to go above and beyond their role and responsibilities within a club, team or committee
A regular member of a club who has stepped up and supported the committee and/or excelled themselves in showing leadership or consistent support for their club/team
College Sport Moment of the Year- JAMES MEN'S FOOTBALL VARSITY WIN 2024
College Sport Moment of the Year will be shortlisted and then go to a vote. Example nominations for Sport Moment of the Year could be, but not exclusive to the below: An unexpected or surprising outcome of a fixture (e.g. a last minute goal etc)
A landslide victory over another team
A great event atmosphere and a large crowd attendance
A non-sporting event that helped create unity, awareness or education around sports and the college sport system
A historic moment for a club/team or the college sport system
Services to College Sport- NINA SIDHU
This will be awarded to a student who has greatly influenced their sport or college sport by meeting any of the below criteria:
Gone above and beyond the call of duty in a college sport role.
Driven the significant improvement/development of their sport or sport in their college
Raised the profile of their sport or of sport in their college
Consistently provided an above average level of support to their sport or their college captains/teams/members
College Sport Championship Winner- JAMES COLLEGE
This prize is not open for nominations but will be awarded to the college who has achieved the most points from all their contributing teams across college sport over the academic year.
